Consultations
We offer a free 1 hour Wedding Cake consultation available to all couples who are planning for their dream day. These are held in our production kitchen or via zoom if in person consultations cannot be met. These are appointment only.
During this we will discuss your initial wedding cake ideas and plans, following on with size, colourings, flavours etc. Your quote for your chosen design will then be given during this.
Timeline
We recommend booking your wedding cake in as far as advance as you possibly can. Our diaries open in the late summer for 2 years in advance. This gives you plenty time for you to book in, receive your consultation and pay your deposit to secure your date. All dates are subject to availability.
Pricing
The total cost price for your wedding cake will vary depending on the amount of detailed work which is used. If more complex embellishments are requested for your cake such as wafer paper ruffles, detailed sugar florals, edible metallic leaf etc then the price will be adjusted accordingly and will be higher based on these. The total cost of a professionally made wedding cake is largely made up of time which is taken to design, prepare, cover and create all details needed for your bespoke cake.
Polystyrene dummies cake be used and covered to be decorated to look like a real cake and can be offered within your cake to create more height to the cake without waste. These can also be used to minimise the total weight of the tiered cakes, as large cakes can be very heavy.
Delivery and set up prices are not included in the price of your wedding cake. These are an additional charge and will be priced to each venue.
Securing & Payments
To secure your wedding cake and date into our diary, we require a £50 non refundable deposit. Once this has been paid, you are also agreeing to our terms and conditions. Your final payment is due 1 month prior to your wedding date and these can be made via bank transfer.
Flavours & Taster Boxes
All of our cakes are freshly made to order. We believe here at Blackberries Patisserie that your cake shouldn't just look beautiful, but they should taste delicious too. We only use the finest quality ingredients throughout.
All of our cakes contain 4 even layers of sponge cake with generous layers of filling between. All buttercream finished cakes are coated in our smooth Italian meringue buttercream. All fondant iced finished cakes are coated in an indulgent layer of white chocolate ganache and then a layer of fondant icing which is finished with a crisp sharp edge. Each cake tier is at least 6 inches deep unless specified otherwise for a different design.
We appreciate you may wish to taste our cake samples before securing your date in the diary. Therefore, we can provide a box of our cake samples which consists of 6 generous portions of our standard most popular flavours. The cost of this box is £25.00 per box. These are available to pre order via email.
